The best way to get know the essence of our little town is visiting during Dia de Muertos celebration, on November 1st and 2nd where families, friends, locals and tourists from all around the world get together and honored the life of their loved ones that passed away through music and colorful altars.

Even though it could sound a little weird to celebrate death, this Mexican tradition is all about showing love and respect for the loved ones even when they aren't around anymore wishing their journey after life will be greater.

Walking through the streets you will find people with costumes and catrina make up, parades, great food and a color explosion.

You can't afford to miss one of the greatest altars of the event, the Huichol Community Altar is the most famous of all, where you can be part of their ritual and experience a true moment where they bless the transition of the soul to the other world.

Definitely a magical moment where the main purpose is celebrate family and honor life as we say goodbye to our loved ones with joy and good intentions.
